The air purifier is mainly composed of chassis shell, filter, air duct, motor, power supply, liquid crystal display, etc. Among them, the lifespan is determined by the motor, the purification efficiency is determined by the filter screen, and the quietness is determined by the air duct design, chassis shell, filter section, and motor. The air filter is the core component, which directly affects the effect of the air purifier.
Air purifiers mainly filter solid particles in the air such as PM2.5, and the purification effect of the gas is relatively limited. If you want to remove formaldehyde or odor at the same time, you can choose a filter device with an activated carbon filter.
1. Types of purifier products
There are three common types of purifier products, namely air purifiers, fresh fans, and FFU.
Air purifier:
indoor air circulation purification, high efficiency, easy to move. It is the most common household purifier equipment at present.
Wall-mounted fresh air fan:
The fresh air is introduced from the outside for ventilation, which solves the pain point of the purifier, and the noise is relatively minimal.
FFU:
It is a fan filter unit, which can be used in modular connection and is mostly used in industrial places. It is cheap, efficient, rough, and relatively noisy.
2. Principle of purification
There are three common types: physical filter type, electrostatic type, negative ion type.
Filtration type:
HEPA and activated carbon, its filtration is safe and effective, with high efficiency.
Electrostatic type:
No consumables, but its purification efficiency is low, and ozone will be generated at the same time.
Negative ion type:
Generally a combination of filter type and negative ions.
3. Product structure of purifier
According to the way of air in and out, it can be divided into two categories:
1). Side air inlet, air out at the top
2). Air in at the bottom, air out at the top
In traditional air purifiers, the filters are generally placed on both sides of the machine, and the fan is located in the center, which is the first way of entering and leaving the air, and the bottom air intake is more suitable for tower purifiers.
4. Core indicators of air purifier products
CADR: Clean air volume (m³/h), that is, the volume of clean air output per hour.The applicable area of the air purifier is proportional to CADR, applicable area = CADR × (0.07~0.12), and the coefficient in parentheses is related to the permeability of the space.
CCM: Cumulative purification amount (mg), that is, the total weight of accumulated purification pollutants when the CADR value decays to 50%.
CCM is related to the life of the filter element of the air purifier. For the filter air purifier, after the adsorption of particulate matter reaches a certain amount, the CADR decays to half, and the filter element should be replaced. Most air purifiers on the market have a very low CCM, but the higher the better, because the higher the filter paper level, the higher the dust holding capacity, the higher the wind resistance, and the lower the CADR.
Purification energy efficiency: that is, the ratio of CADR clean air volume to rated power. Purification energy efficiency is an energy saving index. The higher the value, the more power saving.
Particulate matter: when the purification energy efficiency is greater than or equal to 2, it is a qualified grade; when the purification energy efficiency is greater than or equal to 5, it is a high-efficiency grade.
Formaldehyde: when the purification energy efficiency is greater than or equal to 0.5, it is a qualified grade; when the purification energy efficiency is greater than or equal to 1, it is a high-efficiency grade.
Noise standard: When the air purifier reaches the maximum CADR value, the corresponding sound volume is generated.
Generally speaking, the stronger the purification ability, the higher the noise. When choosing an air purifier, the lowest gear ratio is CADR and the highest gear ratio is noise.
