1. HEPA Cartridge

HEPA cartridge can filter large particles of pollutants, which is often called “filter pm2.5″. According to the filtering effect, HEPA cartridge is divided into H10-H14 five levels, and the high level indicate the better filtering effect. While the filtering effect of ≥ 0.3μm particles of H12 grade can reach 99.9%, the H13 grade can reach 99.97%. Nowadays the air purifier on the market, is generally with H12, 13 grade cartridge.

Though H14 grade cartridges have a higher filtration precision, not many air purifiers will choose them. Mainly because the cartridge precision is higher, the resistance will also bigger, which definitely will cause ventilation quantity of the air purifier reduced. if maintain the same air intake, we have no choose but increase the revolving speed, which not only cost more electricity fee but also give rise to big noise.

2. Activated Carbon Cartridge

Activated Carbon Cartridge is a cylindrical type activated carbon. It is a high-quality activated carbon specially treated for the special purification of polluted air. Only activated carbon with high hardness, high strength and micropore can be used as air purification carbon. Fruit shell charcoal and coal can be used as raw materials. Among them, the activated charcoal of coconut shell has the best effect.

Ordinary activated carbon cartridge will be saturated in about six months to a year, you need to follow the instructions in time for a new one. The high-end activated carbon cartridge will be added to the cold catalyst, photocatalyst, which will promote the decomposition of formaldehyde into water and carbon dioxide, so that the saturation of the cartridge is slower.

3. Primary Filter

Primary Filter is mainly used to filter some large particles, which will increase the filter efficiency of HEPA filter. The primary filter usually has three styles: plate type, folding type and bag type. Meanwhile, the outer frame material is paper frame, aluminum frame and galvanized iron frame. The filter material is non-woven fabric, nylon mesh, and metal hole mesh, etc. Considering the recyclable, the primary filter of most brands is washable.
